My husband starts calling me his little duckie... very nice of him. At least he starts realising now that we have only three months left before our couple life will change forever... well at least for the next twenty years or so.
Hi! I'm a fashion lover turned pregnant. I'm documenting my 'progress' here and what I wear each week. Hope you like it and find some inspiration.
Here is my list of basic maternity clothes:
- Long shirts (elastic or floaty)
- Little dresses
- Trousers (maternity or oversized hip style) - Leggings and tights
- Small jackets and coats
- Boots, sandals and ballerinas
Voila, add your favourite accessories and there you go stylish mum-to-be! I found that dark colours such as black and navy let you look less big. Floaty upper parts work best with slim bottoms and the other way round. Don't wear too floaty clothes as they let you look more voluminous. It's better to show what you got.
It's not necessary to buy lots of maternity clothes. Just get one or two pairs of maternity trousers as they can't be beaten. From seven or eight months on highheels become more and more uncomfy so go for flat sandals and shoes instead. Add some accessories such as scarves and long necklaces to add some colour and distraction. You can always buy handbags!
Remember to exercise moderately in order to keep in shape and feel good. It also helps with the swelling and backpain (especially swimming is very good).
And now enjoy your pregnancy it's a wonderful almost spiritual time!
